Stewart World Port

A Port for Every Project

Stewart World Port combines purpose-built infrastructure, local expertise, and versatile handling capabilities to support complex industrial, mining, and energy projects. From oversized wind components to bulk mining concentrates, our facilities and equipment are designed to move your cargo safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

A New Gateway

Breakbulk Services

Handling large, oversized, and complex cargo requires precision, specialized equipment, and experienced personnel. Stewart World Port is fully equipped to manage a wide range of breakbulk cargo, including pipe, wind blades, wind tower sections, oilfield modules, mining equipment, transformers, and general project cargo. Our team understands the unique challenges each project brings, whether it’s a single oversized shipment or a multi-module industrial delivery.

To support these operations, SWP offers four mobile cranes for rent:

  • Two Tadano RT 75-ton cranes
  • Grove AT 210 ton
  • Manitowoc Crawler 150 ton.

For the heaviest cargo, we recommend the use of a geared vessel, which provides the safest and most efficient handling. When shippers prefer, we can also coordinate the transport and rental of suitable cranes for specialized cargo operations.

Our breakbulk services have been critical for projects that were previously logistically impossible within British Columbia. Notably, we’ve successfully handled wind project components, including blades up to 59 meters long, creating a new gateway for renewable energy infrastructure in the province.

Bulk Handling

SWP is equipped to handle a wide range of bulk commodities. Currently, our port manages cement powder, with plans to expand into all major mining concentrates in the Golden Triangle, including copper, gold, silver, zinc, and lead. We are also capable of handling limestone and other bulk commodities as needed. Our bulk services are designed for flexibility, speed, and safety, ensuring that shippers can move high volumes of material without delays or costly bottlenecks. By combining modern equipment, skilled operators, and strategic planning, SWP has positioned itself as a leading bulk logistics hub in Northern British Columbia. Backed by a $13.1 million federal grant, SWP plans to construct a high-capacity loading system capable of transferring 2,000 tonnes of material per hour. Once operational, this system will dramatically increase efficiency, reducing vessel loading times and supporting larger-scale industrial and mining projects in the region.

Seamless Logistics Solutions

Storage Solutions

SWP offers secure, flexible storage options to accommodate a variety of project requirements:

  • 6 hectares of main site storage
  • 8 hectares of laydown yard
  • Access to an additional 25 hectares for large-scale staging

By combining ample storage capacity with strategic location and expert logistics support, SWP enables projects to maintain momentum, even under complex operational requirements. All storage areas are designed for heavy cargo, oversized modules, and bulk commodities, and our team provides comprehensive handling and staging services to ensure every item is accounted for and safely positioned. Security services are available to protect high-value cargo, and our layout allows for rapid access and movement, minimizing delays for both loading and offloading operations.

From staging wind project components to storing mining resupply materials, SWP’s storage solutions are fully integrated into our broader port operations, providing a seamless logistics experience from arrival to shipment.
